Overview:

• Our County Council comprises 67 elected members (County Councillors) who each represent an electoral division.
• They are elected every four years.
• The last election was in May 2008.
• The Council meets at least every three months and the Annual meeting makes appointments to Committees.
• The Leader is appointed at the annual meeting of the Council and he appoints an Executive from the majority party (Liberal Democrats).
