Northumberland County Council Committee Information

The County Council comprises 67 elected members (County Councillors) who each represent an electoral division. They are elected every four years. The last election was in May 2008. The Council meets at least every three months and the Annual meeting makes appointments to Committees.

The Leader is appointed at the annual meeting of the Council and he appoints an Executive from the majority party (Liberal Democrats)
